With Covid-19 putting the country in Lockdown, people everywhere found themselves in a whole new world, whether it was one of home schooling, no schooling, LOADS of work, or none at all.  Personally, I found myself with all my nursery shoots in May and June cancelled, along with First Communion photos, school Proms, “special” birthday parties and portrait sessions.  It took a bit of getting used to and was strange not to pick up my camera during what is usually my busiest time of the year.  The wonderful Spring weather helped and, like many families, we enjoyed the permitted one walk a day, lots of good food, and family time.

Once I had re-designed my website, jet-washed the patio, cleared out the garage and walked the dog endlessly, I found that I was really missing getting out with my camera.  As Lockdown restrictions began to be eased, I decided to do some Lockdown Doorstep portraits …. quick, socially distanced portrait sessions on your doorstep for a nominal fee and a contribution to Buckinghamshire Mind.  It was the end of May, the weather was wonderful and it was fantastic to get out and meet some families on their doorsteps.  Everyone entered into the spirit of the sessions with everything from face masks to family pets – and we created some images that will hopefully be a memento of the unusual summer, as well as raising money for Buckinghamshire Mind (local Mental health charity).

Here are a few of the Doorstep images from May …. if you missed the chance of these then I can always do a garden shoot and add in a doorstep photo also.  Details of my Summer 2020 discounted (and socially distanced) outdoor photo sessions can be found here.
